Since February 2015, Dr. Michael Niechzial, Founder and Chairman for m4h, has been a professor at the Accadis University, lecturing on “Health Care Management” for master students. In context of this professorship, m4h provides master students with internship opportunities in the projects implemented by m4h. We are pleased to have a student working with us for three-months as part of her masters program.

“Associating my roots to Indian origin, I stepped out from my native threshold to expand my horizon and gain international exposure. Presently, I am enrolled as a master student at the University of Applied Sciences, accadis Hochschule, based in Bad Homburg, Germany. My bachelor studies in psychology furthered my interest in the associated concept: Human Health, which motivated me to pursue my Master’s degree in International Health-Care Management.

My cultivating thoughts towards the current health status worldwide further initiated my motivation to be a part of the sector and contribute back to society. In order to gain in-depth knowledge and practical exposure to the international public health care sector, I was fortunate enough to avail an opportunity as an Intern at managment4health (m4h), a global network of professionals who all provide consulting services in international health, based in Frankfurt, Germany.

My three-month internship will provide me a chance to enhance my skills on international public health, relating to planning and implementing projects based on challenges of healthcare reforms and development, universal health coverage, health systems and services.

While I will be working on a variety of different assignments throughout my internship, I will be working on a long-term assignment related to health financing in Bangladesh. The ‘Social Health Protection’ project in Bangladesh aims to enable the poor population of the Tangail district to make use of health services without endangering their economic situation to deteriorate. This pilot is financed by the German government through KfW Development Bank and is one step in the overall objective of achieving universal health coverage. Specifically, I will support the team in a costing study of health services that will be covered through the insurance scheme.

I give my gratitude to m4h for providing me an opportunity to learn and grow in the health sector. I look forward to gaining new knowledge for my future work in international development.”

m4h Intern,

Kanika Kaur
