Lars Elffors is a medical doctor, specialised in internal medicine, family medicine and geriatric medicine and with a PhD degree in Epidemiology. He has 40 years of experience in the health sector, as a clinician, a manager and a senior lecturer. Lars’ management experience emanates from all levels of the health sector, from local to governmental (regional, national and international). He has been working in the public as well as the private sectors.
Lars participated in and lead several health services provision reforms in Sweden, including the elaboration of rules and regulations for purchasers and providers of care and the financial management of health districts and counties. On the international level he has worked for more than 15 years as consultant on health sector reform, health policy, health services delivery and public administration, holding positions as a project director, Team Leader, Key and ST Expert in HSR projects in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mongolia, Republic of Moldova, Romania, Syrian Arab Republic.
