On August 20, management4health reached an important milestone in District Malakand as training for healthcare providers under the KfW-funded Social Health Protection Initiative Phase II (SHPI-II) got underway. Representatives from both public and private health facilities joined district health authorities to strengthen their understanding of the Outpatient Care (OPC) Scheme and prepare for implementation in one of the programme’s expansion districts.
The sessions combined technical and operational aspects of service delivery, covering everything from beneficiary eligibility verification and data capture to the day-to-day processes that help ensure people can access services when they need them. The training was delivered by Khyber Medical University (KMU) and the State Life Insurance Corporation (SLIC), supported by the management4health AG team (Michael Niechzial, Irum Shaikh, Habib Ur Rehman, Aamir Nazir and Gary Asperas) working alongside the Department of Health and project partners.
The sessions combined technical and operational aspects of service delivery, covering everything from beneficiary eligibility verification and data capture to the day-to-day processes that help ensure people can access services when they need them.
As the OPC Scheme expands beyond Mardan, strengthening provider capacity is a key part of ensuring that beneficiaries can access quality services through a growing network of participating health facilities. By June 2026, registration activities had already begun in Malakand, marking the next phase of scale-up for the programme.
