Project Description

The GIZ Sector Initiative Global Health is responsible for knowledge management pertaining to health and social protection in German development cooperation, i.e. for BMZ, GIZ and KfW. Innovations, achievements and lessons learned by development cooperation projects as well as conference documentations and Germany’s contributions to Global Health Initiatives are all presented on the web portal Healthy DEvelopments. This living archive of implementation knowledge informs the design of new development cooperation projects and has been instrumental for BMZ in national and international debates on health and social protection. Healthy DEvelopments continuously provides well-researched and substantiated content and to support learning and innovation in health and social protection-related German development cooperation.

Scope of Work

The overall objective of this assignment is to ensure the smooth operation of the Healthy DEvelopments portal and the continuous creation of new content for it.

The m4h communications team has been running the Healthy DEvelopments portal since its inception in 2013. The Managing Editor responds to GIZ and KfW proposals for new articles, consults with the responsible project teams and coordinates and quality-assures all knowledge production processes. A pool of experienced writers – all of them native speakers with backgrounds in public health, social sciences and journalism – carefully research the given topic areas, interview GDC colleagues and their counterparts and regularly produce new feature articles as well as podcasts, short films and conference documentations. A webmaster posts the content online keeps the portal looking clean and fresh. A social media expert promotes new contributions to the portal on LinkedIn and X.
