Kerstin Marit Uhl holds a PhD in the field of Agricultural Economics from Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg. In her doctoral thesis, Kerstin analyzes Russian wheat exports with particular attention on food security implications. She also holds a Diploma degree in Economics from Philipps-Universität Marburg. During her studies, Kerstin put a special focus on Development Economics, and gained experience abroad in Panama.
In her previous working life, Kerstin worked as research assistant at Leibniz Institute of Agricultural Development in Transition Economies (IAMO), and was part of the project “Global Food Security and the Grain Markets in Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan” (GERUKA) funded by the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL) and the Federal Office for Agriculture and Food (BLE). The project work involved meetings at the BMEL and presentations at international conferences. Furthermore, following her studies, Kerstin gained practical insights into the field of international cooperation with GIZ, and was part of the sector project “Advisory Service on Agricultural Research for Development” (BEAF).
Kerstin joined management4health as Project Manager in 2019. She is responsible for the implementation of health projects as well as for the preparation of bids including expert recruitment. Thereby, Kerstin’s special interest lies in the improvement of food and nutrition security.
