Last month, we had the pleasure to welcome to our office in Frankfurt/ Main the AKME for its first in-person workshop since the breakout of COVID 19 with a focus on Universal Health Coverage – what have we achieved, what needs to be done?

AKME stands for the “Arbeitskreis medizinische Entwicklungszusammenarbeit” – or in English “Working Group on Medical Development Cooperation”. It is a forum for the exchange of ideas between governmental and non-governmental organisations, civil society, and academia, as well as an active group of people involved in the globalised healthcare system.

We enjoyed presentations from key speakers on various healthcare topics, followed by a roundtable discussion of recent industry developments and, of course, to all get to know each other and exchange ideas. It was a fantastic networking event, and we are looking forward to host more of them in the future!
