Dr. Aida Bayou, MD, MPHCEO and Partner

Dr Aida Bayou is managing director of m4health since June 2022 and a founding partner of m4h since 2012. She has worked at m4h for the last 10 years, directing a worldwide multidisciplinary team of experts focused on driving impact across a wide range of health areas.

Dr Bayou is a Physician, specialized in Public Health, Epidemiology and Tropical Medicine. She is a certified Quality Management Evaluator (ISQUA and EFQM) for health facilities and systems.

Dr Bayou’s vision for management4health is rooted in her belief that the organisation must engage in programs that are sustainable, by building on the capacity of countries through strengthening health system and creating a network of health care professionals in these countries.

Prior to m4h, Dr Bayou has held senior positions with MoH and several global health organizations including GIZ. She has worked in more than 10 countries with over two decades within and outside of government health care structures, from working as a health care physician at all levels of healthcare, to health policy advisor, preparedness and institutional capacity strengthening of various partner ministries of health worldwide in tackling some of the toughest global health challenges from the HIV epidemic to the current pandemic preparedness.

She has influenced organizational strategy and priorities and served as a technical leader in HIV/AIDS, quality of health care, integrated primary health care, maternal health, and health systems strengthening in over 30 health projects under international programmes of GIZ, KfW, Global Fund, World Bank and EU.

Her technical professional expertise is in the area of maternal, neonatal, child survival and HIV, having worked for instance as technical advisor and team leader for MNCH & Quality Care in Ethiopia, Nepal, Kenya, Cambodia, Yemen, Nigeria, Malawi, Tajikistan, South Africa and Afghanistan. Moreover, she has led the design and implementation of projects on demand side health financing and data quality audits in Kenya and Cambodia.
