Dr Aida Bayou is a medical doctor and Primary Health Physician, with a Master’s Degree in Public Health and Tropical Medicine. She is a certified Auditor for Quality Management (ISQUA and EFQM) certified data quality auditor, and evaluator for International health programmes.
She has over 20 years of work experience, with 10 years as a health care physician working at all levels of healthcare, followed by institutional capacity strengthening and Integrated Primary Health Care supporting various partner ministries of health worldwide. She has contributed to the design and implementation of some 20 health projects under contract of GIZ, KfW, Global Fund, World Bank and EU, with a strong focus on quality management in medical care and integrated primary health care. She has specific professional expertise in the area of Maternal, Neonatal, Child Health and Nutrition Programmes and HIV, having worked for instance as Senior MNCH & Quality Care technical advisor in Ethiopia, Nepal, Kenya, Cambodia, Yemen, Nigeria, Tajikistan and Afghanistan. Moreover, she has led the design and implementation of projects on Demand side health financing and Data Quality Audit in Kenya and Cambodia. She has successfully served as Team Leader on several MNCH projects for Kfw (Malawi, Nepal, Ethiopia), GIZ (Ethiopia, Nepal, South Africa), and Global Fund (Cambodia- Team leader for Data Quality Audit). Her additional focus areas of work at m4h include Programme evaluation and Partnership building for development.
She currently works as Deputy Managing Director at m4h and is the current Technical Team Leader of the ongoing Integrated School Health Programme in South Africa.
