In the last three decades Kyrgyzstan has been reforming its previously input and hospital-based health care system that was not any more guaranteeing access to quality care to the whole population. The new program of the Kyrgyz Republic Government on Public Health Protection and Health Care System Development for 2019-2030 (SPHD2030) adopted the motto “Healthy Person – Prosperous Country” to emphasize the importance of health as an investment to achieve economic development. To achieve this overall goal several measures supported by several international financing organisations are already in place or planned.
m4h is currently supporting the Mandatory Health Insurance Fund in the framework of a 9-months project financed by the World Bank which is an important preparatory measure for a 4-year multi-donor program and has the following objectives:
- support the preparation and implementation of methodology for the revision of the State Guaranteed Benefit Package
- improve capacity of the Mandatory Health Insurance Fund in strategic purchasing;
- support the preparation and implementation of methodology for the revision of the Additional Drug Package (ADP); and ADP pricing and reimbursement methodology.
To ensure the success m4h is working closely together with the Ministry of Health and all other relevant institutions in Kyrgyzstan as well as with the WHO, World Bank and GIZ.
