From Sunday, October 9th till Tuesday, October 11th management4health attended the World Health Summit 2016 in Berlin. The large conference, held in the German Federal Foreign Office in the heart of Berlin, drew the attention of hundreds of healthcare professionals, researchers, decision makers, humanitarian workers and the private sector from all over the world that came together to exchange on up-to-date issues.
Panel discussions, smaller workshops and social events covered a variety of interesting topics. From the very successful approach to long-term elderly care for patients with disabilities to next generation logistics, materialized in the idea of distributing medical goods via drone networks in Africa, the conference had topics of interest for the wider audience. In between, high-profile key notes were used to raise the awareness of the participants to urgent and burning topics such as “Migration and Refugee Health” or “Technological Innovation in Healthcare”. German Federal Minister of Health Hermann Gröhe used the Opening Ceremony to address conflict parties world-wide, and especially in Syria, to stop the violence and the targeting of health facilities: “The killing must stop now.”
